Welcome

Welcome to the website for the Class of '70 at Alfred Street Junior School. This was inspired by the Friends Reunited website which has generated interest in putting former classmates back in touch with each other. If you haven't already registered please do so by following the link to their page.

Update: 16 December 2006

The final update to the Memorial Garden page has now been added and this features the article published in Evening Telegraph on the 4th October.

I've also had feedback on the Bamboo Pipe photograph from Julie Knight now living in San Francisco. Although Julie didn't attend Alfred Street she recognised Julie Gillett in the back row from her days at Rushden Girls School.

Update: 7 November 2006

Following the opening of the Memorial Garden on the 3rd October I've now added the articles featured on BBC Look East and ITV Anglia Tonight.

Update: 13 June 2006

I've now added a video clip of the Memorial Garden article featured on BBC Look East on the 10th May.

Update: 7 March 2006

Since the last update I've had contact from Derek Farley. Derek now lives with his family in Worcestershire. He found the website by simply doing a search on his own name!

Update: 17 January 2006

First of all a Happy New Year to everyone. I've now managed to collate much of the feedback the site has received from its visitors and this has now been launched on the main menu as Visitors Comments.

I'm hoping to add some more photographs in the near future so keep visiting!

Update: 19 December 2005

On relaunching the site I omitted the photo archive section, this has now been rectified.

Update: 7 December 2005

The website has been relaunched following a considerable period of downtime. Hopefully it will be on the main search engines again in time for people to view at Christmas. There is an automated link from the original website - www.alfredst.ukf.net - which was launched in 2001 and is still the top result if searching for Alfred Street Junior School using Google and Yahoo.

Since the last update was issued a number of other people have contacted me having found the site. These were:

Terry Holyoak - now living in the Massachusetts, US
Rosemary Stokes
Natalie Batts - now living in Colorado, US
William Delli Colli - now living in Canada

If you'd like to be put in touch with them or any of your other former classmates please let me know and I'll forward you there contact details. Please use the feedback form as all email addresses have been removed from the website.

I've also received many emails from former pupils and visitors who were not in the class of '70 and unfortunately I've not been able to help them. I'll be adding their messages to a seperate Message Board in the near future should other people wish to contact them.
