Reunion

After months of putting the reunion together the event was finally staged on Saturday 15th June 2002.

Thanks to Mr Kidney (Headmaster), Mrs Timms (Secretary) and the caretaker for allowing us access to most of the school and classrooms. There were also many people involved in making the reunion happen so my personal thanks to Susan Bayes, Malcolm Heald, Sara Drage, Chris Hill and Hani Edwards.

The school was open between 6:15 and 8:00pm followed by a meal at the Pizzeria Venezia, a short walk from the school. 45 people attended the reunion at the school and 41 went for the meal.

The feedback I've had from everyone has been very positive although some were feeling apprehensive before arriving this quickly disappeared. Another point that was raised by a number of people towards the end of the evening was what happens next. I suspect we will never be able to do something on a similar scale because of the amount of time required to organise but there's nothing to stop a reunion on a less formal basis happening - even in a local pub. If there's enough interest and feedback to me then I don't mind arranging (unless there's another volunteer!)

Due to all the other things that I was doing on the evening I had very little time to take photographs but I know there were many taken. If people can scan them and email to me I will include on the website. If you don't have a scanner then you can send to my home address and I will return them to you in the same condition. I did see other photographs people had from our school days so I would also appreciate having these sent to me for inclusion on the website.
